CDC – Executive Committee Preview | September 1, 2026
This is a short one: three items, two of which are about how federal housing money gets used and whether a project gets more time to finish.
🔦 The 3 items worth your attention
The committee is sitting with just two substantive items this month, so these get the full spotlight.
Federal housing money is getting reshuffled. Amendment #8-Substantial to the 2021 Annual Action Plan would revise how HOME-ARP funds are distributed across housing and homelessness programs in DuPage County. HOME-ARP money comes from the federal government and is specifically targeted at people experiencing homelessness or at risk of it, so changes to the allocation plan can shift which programs get funded and by how much. The committee’s recommendation here goes up the chain before anything is final. (5-A)
A community development project under CD24-SFR is asking for its second time extension, pushing the Memorandum of Understanding deadline to June 30, 2027. That’s Modification #2, which makes this a project that’s already been extended once before. Extensions aren’t automatically a red flag, but it’s a detail worth knowing if you follow how long local housing projects take to move from agreement to completion. (5-B)

💰 Where the money’s going
No dollar figures are attached to any item on this agenda. The HOME-ARP amendment reshuffles an existing federal allocation, but the specific dollar breakdown isn’t enumerated in the agenda materials.
